Dr. Sydney Malmo
Dr. Sydney Malmo, a Memphis native, attended St. George’s High School and spent her summers working as a veterinary assistant at Shelby Center Hospital for Animals. While earning her double degree in Biology and Animal Science, and later her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee, she continued to work at Shelby Center.
After graduating in 2017, Dr. Malmo returned to Shelby Center Hospital for Animals as an Associate Veterinarian, practicing small animal medicine with a focus on Emergency Medicine and Dermatology.
Dr. Malmo enjoys the unpredictable nature of veterinary medicine, stating, “Every day is different! I love that this profession always keeps you on your toes and learning. The pets make it so fun, but so do the people!!”
In her free time, Dr. Malmo enjoys running, spending time outdoors, and being with her husband, one-year-old son, friends, family, and her two dogs, Hallie (an 11-year-old Shepherd) and Buddy (a 6-year-old English Setter).
